When you work with me I will help you to achieve a birth where you feel confident and empowered. We work together slowly with intention and conscious care for what is showing up in your mind, body and soul. You will arrive in a place of knowing that feels just right for you. Marked by choices that align with your body, intuition and instincts.
Your ideal birth experience is more likely to become a reality when you have the right heart-centred and caring support surrounding you. I strongly believe in every woman's ability to know what is right for her and her baby, and therefore it is more likely that with the right support and information she can trust herself to safely birth her baby with confidence and ease.

I have been a holistic therapist for many years and have provided emotional, physical and spiritual support to many women and families at different stages of their lives. I understand how powerful these transitional times in life can be, and birth is a time when it beneficial to feel empowered, held and supported.
A MAGICAL TOOL FOR LABOUR!
I have a tool called a Scenar machine which my clients affectionately call "The magical machine". They nickname it this because it greatly increased their ability to manage the surges of labour and birth.
It's a similar device to a TENS machine but works at a much deeper level to significantly reduce labour sensations and speed up recovery times, amongst many other uses.

BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT EXTRA PACKAGE:
This package includes:

4 extended (2.5 hours) antenatal visits in your home covering additional topics such as: sacred birth as a rite of passage, ancestral clearing work, intuitive energy body work to prepare you and your home for the new soul, and other holistic support personally tailored to your needs.

Preparation of a birth plan, with back up options to cover all eventualities.

24/7 support via phone or messaging to help you feel safe and supported. email and phone support during pregnancy

On call for 4 weeks. 2 weeks before and after your due date

Continuous support during labour and birth (wherever you choose to give birth)

2 Post natal visits including full birth story debrief . Feeding advice and signposting if further support is required.

Phone and messaging support up to 6 weeks after birth

1 Energy Realignment healing session, to stabilise and restore your energetic fields.
My birth doula support extra fee is £1600.
Payment plans are available and a 25% deposit fee is taken upon booking.
Some families and friends contribute towards the fee as their birth gift.
If you would like a doula and genuinely cannot afford this fee, please let me know as there are charities that offer access funds and we can discuss possible alternative exchanges.
If you would like any additional support sessions, holistic sessions or any other support care this can be discussed and set up personally between us.
BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT PACKAGE:
I will provide you with information plus physical, emotional and holistic support.

2 antenatal visits at your home ( 2 hours each ). We will discuss your intentions and wishes covering all aspects of labour, birth and the postnatal period

Together we will prepare a birth plan, plus think about some back up options

Personalised homeopathic remedies, energy medicine and other holistic tools as required

WHY HIRE A BIRTH DOULA?
In an ideal world women would have the support of trusted experienced elders from the community to assist them during pregnancy, birth and during the postpartum period. We also used to be able to rely on getting the best care and attention from the midwives in our local hospital.
Unfortunately this is not the reality these days and having the support of a birth doula is the best way to ensure you will have the birth you wish for.
The NHS is under unprecedented pressure and the amazing staff are being pushed to their limits. Midwives are trying to cope as best they can, but openly admit they're not able to provide the care labouring women really need.
Hiring a birth doula provides you with continuous care giving you the feeling of safety, security and trust that your needs will be met and understood by your doula who will advocate for your wishes and act as a guardian for you. I will have your back and do whatever I can to make sure your wishes and intentions will be heard and carried out.
Research has shown that having a Doula with whom you have a trusting relationship greatly improves your birth experience. I will ensure your labouring space is as quiet and as protected as possible. This helps you release more of the hormones that will allow you to give birth with more ease and significantly reduce the need for medical interventions. Labours are shorter and women are more likely to rate their birth experience as positive

A BIT ABOUT ME:
Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy.
My name is Sarah and I'm the mum to 3 teenage boys. We live in Brighton.
I started my doula career 10 years ago as an End of Life Doula. I found I was naturally
able to support a person in challenging situations and be a strong and stable presence
to them. After years of caring for friends in labour my passion for supporting women
during pregnancy and birth increased and I trained as a Birth Doula.
I really enjoy the contrast and similarities of both roles.
People describe me as down to earth, loyal, honest, funny, strong and caring. I support women from all sorts of backgrounds and often work with women who have experienced trauma and difficult life experiences. I have faced some very extreme situations in my own life which have gifted me with resilience and empathy. I work with your whole family and know how important it is to support your birth partner too. Together, with clear communication and sharing ideas on all the different available birthing options we will create your ideal support birth team.
I am a qualified counsellor and have training in using a trauma informed approach. I have qualifications in many alternative therapies, homeopathy, energy and vibrational healing.
I use biomechanics, rebozo and a Scenar device to assist ease of positioning and comfort during pregnancy and labour.

What's included in the package?Every family has such varying needs and I work closely with the family to fill the support they require. With that in mind, here is a rough outline of what I offer: Together will we discuss your intentions and wishes for the birth so we can make a plan of your preferences and have some back up options too. I will share all the relevant up-to-date information medical and local hospital policies for in order for you to be able to make the right informed choices for you. Email, phone and messaging support to answer any questions and offer additional support. Home visits to provide in-person care and gentle holistic treatments. I'll provide continuous emotional, spiritual and physical support during that time. Together we will create a safe and protected space for you and your family.

Do you help with infant feeding?Yes absolutely. I have training and have breastfed my children. I work with local breastfeeding counsellors and can refer you if needed. I like to think there's not much we can't solve between us. I have homeopathic remedies to hand which can help with milk supply, heal cracked nipples and support many common physical and emotional issues after birth.

Where are you based?I live in Patcham on the outskirts of Brighton. I have a car and can travel anywhere in and around Brighton and Hove easily. I often work within a 25 mile radius of Brighton also.
